SenZations 2006: Novi Sad, Serbia

The 1st Senzations Summer School in 2006 took place at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad in Serbia and Montenegro. Novi Sad is a beautiful and friendly city whose cheerful citizens warmly welcome everyone. The city is an academic, economic and cultural centre (“The Athens of Serbia”), located on the banks of the Danube river in the northern part of Serbia, 80km from Belgrade.

The beautiful Petrovaradin fortress used to be called the “Gibraltar on the Danube” because of its location on a hill above the Danube river. The famous fortress is the main city landmark and the venue of the EXIT music festival, one of the biggest in Europe. The university campus is located on the opposite bank of the river with an easy access to both the sandy river beaches and city center. The National park Fruska Gora, a mountain located nearby the city, provides an excellent opportunity for long walks in beautiful surroundings. It is also the place of a number of old orthodox monasteries which are more than worth visiting.
